Dr.M.O.Garg Assumes Charge As Director General of CSIR

Director, CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum (CSIR-IIP), Dehradun, Dr. M.O. Garg, has assumed charge as the Director General of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR).He will replace PS Ahuja who had held this post since May 2014. M.O. Garg is a gold medalist in Chemical Engineering from Nagpur University and has M.Tech degree from IIT Kanpur. He also has completed PhD from University of Melbourne.


Micromax Appoints Shubhajit Sen As new CMO

Indian smartphone maker Micromax Informatics has appointed Shubhajit Sen as its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). His appointment seeks to boost its marketing efforts as it looks to further improve its position in the surging smartphone market in the country. As the CMO, Sen will be leading all marketing efforts for the company across markets while strengthening the overall brand communication.


Marathi Novelist Bhalchandra Nemade Chosen For Jnanpith Award

Eminent Marathi litterateur Bhalchandra Nemade, whose 1963 novel Kosala(Cocoon) changed the dimensions of Marathi novel, was on 6 February selected for 2014 Jnanpith Award, the highest literary honour in India, by the Jnanpith Selection Board.Nemade is the 4th Marathi writer to receive the honour and is the 50th recipient of Jnanpith award.
