Sonia Gandhi achieved a feat in her political career that has never been attained in 127 year old history of Congress Party. The veteran leader completed 15 years working as the party president. This is an outstanding record which came in a career that has seen many ups and downs.

Jorge Bergoglio Elected As 266th Pope

On 13 March Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina is selected as the new leader for 120 crore Catholics across the world.George was the Buenos Aires Archbishop and he was chosen as the new Pope by 115 cardinals.He changed his name as Francis-1.He is the 266th Pope (head of the Roman Catholic Church).Francis-1 is the first Pope from the Jesuit community. He is also the first pope from Latin America.  He is also the first pope to be selected from a non European country in the modern history.There are five Indian also among the cardinal electors.

Former SC judge to be sworn-in as Goa Lokayukta on 16th March

On Marchi 13,Former Supreme Court Judge B Sudharsan Reddy appointed as a Goa Lokayukta.And he will be sworn on March 16.The state Cabinet on 13 March 2013 approved the appointment of Reddy as Lokayukta for Goa, the first one to hold the charge after Goa Lokayukta Bill 2013 was passed on the floor of the House.

Britain & India Signed Agreement To Support R&D Projects

On 13 March Britain and India have signed an agreement to launch a joint programme to encourage industry and business in the two countries to work together towards commercialisation of research leads in a range of key areas, including energy and health care.As part of the deal, Global Innovation and Technology Alliance (GITA) sponsored by the Indian government’s Department of Science and Technology and UK’s Technology Strategy Board (TSB) will support UK and Indian businesses and academics in joint R&D and innovation projects over a three-year period.
