Lost Ark Maintenance Today
Lost Ark is undergoing scheduled weekly maintenance today, with all servers and regions taken offline at 12 AM PT / 8 AM UTC as announced by the official Lost Ark Game Status account. @LAGameStatus shared on X that all Lost Ark servers and regions will go offline at 12 AM PT / 8 AM UTC on Wednesday, January 21, for the weekly maintenance update.
This is the usual midweek reset type of maintenance, but with a bit more spice than a basic server restart because it also brings a new Ark Pass and a few important fixes. For anyone who logged in, saw the “maintenance” message, and alt-tabbed out in frustration, this is that downtime planned, not a surprise crash.
The update includes the arrival of the new Ark Pass, fixes to a Crucible issue that allowed faster-than-intended clear times, a correction to the Portal Statue not showing all players from Kazeros The First (EU), and a tweak so Thaemine Extreme no longer requires Hard G1–G4 clears before entry.
On top of that, the Thaemine event and Event Crafting have been extended by one more week, which softens the blow a little for players worried about missing out due to real-life schedules.
When Will Lost Ark Servers Be Back Up?
Lost Ark servers are expected to be back up roughly 5 hours after the maintenance start time, meaning the team has communicated an estimated downtime of “up to 5 hours” from 12 AM PT.
In practical terms, that puts the expected return window around 5 AM PT / 1 PM UTC, assuming there are no unexpected issues that force an extension.
Historically, Lost Ark maintenance sometimes ends a bit earlier than the maximum announced window, but the official guidance is always to plan around the full duration, so players are not disappointed if it runs the full length.
The safest move is to check the official server status page or the @LAGameStatus feed before logging back in, especially if playing from regions where this downtime falls in prime evening hours.
How Long Will the Maintenance Take?
The maintenance is officially expected to last up to 5 hours, as clearly stated in the latest weekly update notice. That “up to” is important: it gives the developers room to handle database work, deploy the new Ark Pass, and verify fixes for Thaemine and Crucible without rushing and risking rollbacks or emergency patches later.
This particular maintenance is doing more than just turning servers off and on:
-
Deploying the new Ark Pass and its Day-and-Night style rewards.
-
Fixing Crucible clear-time exploits and the Portal Statue display bug for Kazeros The First (EU).
-
Adjusting Thaemine Extreme entry requirements and extending the Thaemine event plus Event Crafting by one extra week.
For players, the downtime is a short-term annoyance but also a reset moment: time to plan Ark Pass routes, decide how to use the extended Thaemine window, and maybe even touch grass for a few hours before heading back to Arkesia.
